SS 201 is an austenitic stainless steel with approximately 16-18% Chromium, 3.5-5.5% Nickel, and 5.5-7.5% Manganese. It exhibits good tensile strength of about 600 MPa and yield strength of approximately 275 MPa. It has fair corrosion resistance and outstanding toughness in cold temperatures. SS 201 is very formable, weldable, and may be readily fabricated. Though not as resistant to corrosion as 304, it is a good substitute for less corrosive environments and finds application for structural and ornamental purposes.
