SS 202 stainless steel is an austenitic material containing 17-19% Chromium, 4-6% Nickel, and 7.5-10% Manganese. They have good mechanical properties with tensile strength of approximately 620 MPa and yield strength of approximately 275 MPa. The alloy exhibits good corrosion resistance and superior toughness at sub-zero temperatures. Its ease of work hardening, as well as its ductility, enables easy forming and fabrication. While less resistant to corrosion than 304, SS 202 is suited for mildly corrosive conditions and is highly recommended for decorative and structural uses.
