Vinit Stainless is a reputable maker and supplier in Chennai, India, and deals specifically in high-performance stainless steel parts such as SMO 254 forged fittings. They are renowned for their remarkable resistance against corrosion and mechanical toughness and are used in highly aggressive conditions, particularly where chlorides and high temperatures are being exposed to them frequently. Vinit Stainless produces these fittings according to international standards such as ASTM A182, with precision, reliability, and prolonged service life. Offshore oil & gas, desalination, chemical processing, and shipbuilding industries depend on Vinit Stainless for high-quality forged solutions designed for performance and durability.
SMO 254 forged fittings (UNS S31254) consist of roughly 20% chromium, 18% nickel, 6% molybdenum, and nitrogen (0.18–0.22%), which provide exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. These fittings have a tensile strength of ≥650 MPa, yield strength ≥300 MPa, and elongation of about 35%. Their high PREN (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) greater than 42 provides exceptional longevity in seawater as well as chemical environments. SMO 254 also possesses strength when used at higher temperatures, and thus such forged fittings are best suited for aggressive applications that need both corrosion resistance as well as mechanical strength.

These fittings are available in sizes from 1/8″ to 4″ and offer reliable, leak-free connections in high-pressure systems. They are commonly used in petrochemical, power generation, and oil and gas industries.
Threaded fittings, ranging from 1/8″ to 4″, provide ease of installation and maintenance. Suitable for low-pressure applications, they are widely used in plumbing, heating, and cooling systems.
These elbows, available in sizes from 1/8″ to 4″, allow for smooth directional flow changes. They are ideal for piping systems requiring high-strength connections and reduced flow resistance.
Threaded tees, in sizes ranging from 1/8″ to 4″, branch off the main line in a piping system. They provide reliable performance in various industrial and commercial applications.
These couplings, available in sizes from 1/8″ to 4″, join two pipes or fittings. They offer easy assembly and disassembly, making them suitable for maintenance and repair work.
Socket weld crosses, ranging from 1/8″ to 4″, are designed to connect four pipes at a single junction. They are used in high-pressure applications where a strong, leak-proof connection is essential.
SMO 254 forged fittings are applied in the most challenging industrial environments because they offer a superior level of corrosion resistance together with excellent mechanical strength. Some applications are seawater cool-down systems, offshore oil and gas pipelines, desalination plants, chemical process lines, heat exchangers, and marine exhaust systems. They‘re applied in bleach plants and severely corrosive chemical areas in pulp and paper mills. EP elbows are perfectly suited for high-temperature and high-pressure piping systems, providing leak-tight, corrosion free connections. They’re used in mission-critical fluid processing systems where the aggressive and chloride-rich conditions make them the best option due to their long lifespan and reliability.
