Vinit Stainless is the leading Chennai, India-based supplier of AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes and provides industry–best solutions for high-pressure and high-temperature applications. These electrodes are designed particularly for welding stainless steel types such as 304H and 308H for applications in high temperature. Vinit Stainless provides product consistency, consistent arc performance, and excellent weld finish, and conforms to domestic and international quality standards. Their E308/308H-16 electrodes find extensive application in boiler, heat exchanger, and petrochemical usage. Through technical knowledge and solid logistics, Vinit Stainless offers consistent welding consumables for key fabrication and maintenance tasks in many industries.
E308/308H-16 Electrodes have 19–21% chromium, 9–11% nickel, and greater carbon composition (0.04–0.08%) compared to regular 308 to ensure high-temperature strength. The weld deposit is completely austenitic with good oxidation resistance at high temperatures. Mechanical properties comprise tensile strength of about 590 MPa, yield strength of around 430 MPa, and elongation of 30%. The electrodes are well-suited for long-term high-temperature service because their creep strength is strengthened. Higher carbon guarantees structural stability on exposure to elevated temperatures for a longer period, which makes them well-suited for pressure-retaining weld joints.

Light-coated electrodes are ideal for welding 18-8 austenitic stainless steel, offering smooth weld beads with minimal slag formation. Available in sizes ranging from 3/32″ to 5/32″ in diameter, they are suited for applications where easy slag removal is essential.
Heavy-coated electrodes provide enhanced slag control and stable arc characteristics, making them suitable for high-heat applications. These electrodes come in sizes from 3/32″ to 5/32″ in diameter and are ideal for out-of-position welding due to their robust coating.
Shielded arc electrodes offer high weld quality with reduced spatter, making them excellent for shielded arc welding. Available in sizes ranging from 3/32″ to 5/32″ in diameter, they provide superior arc stability and slag detachability, resulting in cleaner welds.
AWS Class E308/308H-16 Electrodes are employed in welding stainless steels in high-temperature service, particularly grades such as 304H and 308H. Uses include pressure vessels, boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers. They are widely applied in power stations, chemical plants, and refineries. The high carbon levels provide enhanced creep resistance, making them ideal for items with long-time exposure to heat. These are also used in structural welding where thermal stress retention of strength is critical. Vinit Stainless supplies these electrodes for fabrication and repair applications demanding consistent metallurgical soundness and heat resistance within hostile thermal and corrosive environments.
