SS 17-4PH is a martensitic precipitation-strengthening stainless steel. It contains 15-17.5% Chromium, 3-5% Nickel, 3-5% Copper, and small levels of Niobium and Manganese. This alloy has outstanding strength and hardness after heat treatment. The mechanical properties are tensile strength up to 1100 MPa, yield strength approximately 1000 MPa, and good corrosion resistance. It has moderate ductility and toughness in annealed and aged states and can be used in high-stress conditions.
