With 11.5–13.5% chromium and no more than 0.08% carbon, stainless steel 410S is a low-carbon, non-hardening martensitic stainless steel that improves weldability and corrosion resistance. At high temperatures, it provides outstanding oxidation resistance and good mechanical strength. Tensile strength of 380–585 MPa, yield strength of 205 MPa, and elongation of 20% are typical mechanical characteristics. Its lower carbon content ensures improved durability by reducing carbide precipitation during welding. The alloy is appropriate for high-temperature and corrosion-prone applications due to its resistance to scaling and ability to preserve structural integrity.
