The intergranular corrosion resistance of stainless steel 430Ti, a ferritic stainless steel alloy stabilized with titanium (approximately 0.6%), is improved. Chromium makes up 16–18% of its composition, with iron and trace amounts of carbon, silicon, and manganese making up the remainder. At high temperatures, the alloy exhibits exceptional resistance to oxidation. Mechanically, it has a moderate hardness, a tensile strength of 450–600 MPa, and a yield strength of about 240 MPa. It is appropriate for applications subjected to heat, chemicals, and cyclic stress because it resists stress corrosion cracking and preserves structural stability.
