Vinit Stainless‘s AWS E316/316H-16 electrodes are designed for high-temperature stainless steel welding in applications that require higher creep strength and heat resistance. These electrodes contain more carbon than 316L and are designed specifically for service temperatures above 500°C. They are suitable for application in thermal power plants, heat exchangers, boilers, and pressure vessels subjected to long term exposure at elevated temperatures. They provide reliable weld strength and resistance to corrosion under thermal cycling and stress. Due to their capability of structural integrity even at high temperatures, they are a choice in energy production, refineries, and high-pressure system fabrication.
E316/316H-16 electrodes have 18–20% Chromium, 11–14% Nickel, and 2–3% Molybdenum with 0.04–0.08% carbon content. Higher carbon content enhances high-temperature tensile and creep strength. Weld metal possesses tensile strength of approximately 620 MPa and is very suitable for elevated-temperature service. The electrodes show good weldability with good arc, low spatter, and easy slag removal. They are both AC and DC power source compatible and function well in flat, vertical, and overhead orientations. E316H is suitable for parts that experience thermal cycling and prolonged exposure to heat.

Known for exceptional resistance to corrosion and high temperatures, these electrodes are ideal for welding stainless steel structures. They typically come in diameters of 1/8″, 3/16″, and 5/32″ and are designed for shielded arc welding processes, ensuring strong, durable welds.
Light-coated electrodes are suitable for welding thin sections of stainless steel and offering high corrosion and oxidation resistance. They are available in sizes such as 1/8″ and 5/32″, providing ease of use and flexibility in various welding applications.
These electrodes provide superior corrosion resistance and durability, making them ideal for heavy-duty applications. With diameters ranging from 3/16″ to 1/4″, they are designed for robust welding tasks, ensuring strong joints and long-lasting performance in harsh environments.
These electrodes find widespread application in high-temperature applications such as boilers, heat exchangers, superheaters, and steam piping systems. Their improved creep resistance renders them the best for manufacturing and refurbishing equipment used in petrochemical plants, refineries, and thermal power plants. E316H is selected for pressure vessels and reactor vessels that are under constant heat load. The electrodes also have good corrosion resistance in acidic and chlorinated environments. Their consistency in structural integrity in heat exposure makes them an appropriate choice for energy infrastructure where equipment is constantly subjected to high temperatures. They’re essential in fulfilling ASME requirements for high-temperature stainless fabrication.
