The high-chromium and high-nickel austenitic alloy that makes up stainless steel 310H sheets and plates contains 24–26% chromium, 19–21% nickel, and up to 0.10% carbon. Excellent resistance to oxidation and scaling at high temperatures is provided by this improved composition. Mechanical characteristics include a Brinell hardness of up to 217 HB, a yield strength of about 205 MPa, and a tensile strength of roughly 515 MPa. They are appropriate for applications involving ongoing heat exposure and thermal cycling because of their remarkable durability, heat resistance, and thermal fatigue strength.
