Compared to regular 347, stainless steel 347H flanges have a higher carbon content (up to 0.10%) and are made up of 17–19% chromium and 9–13% nickel. Columbium (niobium) stabilises the alloy, improving its resistance to intergranular corrosion and enabling use in high-temperature applications. These flanges have a yield strength of roughly 205 MPa and a tensile strength of 515–750 MPa. Along with providing good weldability, oxidation resistance, and dimensional stability under thermal stress, they also retain excellent creep and stress rupture strength, particularly in service conditions up to 870°C.
