Vinit Stainless is a known supplier and manufacturer of SS 317 forged fittings in Chennai, India. SS 317 is a molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel created for corrosive environments and is excellent in resisting chemical attacks and pitting. Vinit Stainless manufactures SS 317 forged fittings with high dimensional precision and durability for use in hostile process environments such as sulfur-containing gases and acidic chemicals. Our forged fittings have high quality and are used in applications like chemical processing, pulp and paper, and marine operations. Vinit is relied upon to provide high-performance, strong solutions for demanding industrial applications.
SS 317 forged fittings contain 18–20% Chromium, 11–15% Nickel, and 3–4% Molybdenum. The presence of these elements gives superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and sulfuric acid environments. The mechanical properties are a tensile strength of around 515 MPa and a yield strength of 205 MPa. The presence of a higher molybdenum content enhances corrosion resistance much more than SS 316, particularly in chloride-enriched and reducing conditions. SS 317 also demonstrates good strength and resistance to oxidation at high temperatures and is a good choice for long-term service under chemical stress.

With superior corrosion resistance, this elbow allows for smooth directional changes in piping systems. It is available in sizes from 1/2″ to 4″ and is designed to meet ASTM specifications for high strength and durability.
This fitting combines high corrosion resistance with structural integrity, ideal for branching pipes at a 90-degree angle. Available in sizes from 1/8″ to 6″ NPT, it ensures reliable and secure connections.
Known for its excellent corrosion resistance, this half coupling connects two threaded pipes or fittings. Common sizes include 1/4″ to 4″ NPT, providing a strong and durable link.
This cross-fitting offers exceptional corrosion resistance, enabling the intersection of four pipes. Sizes typically range from 1/2″ to 4″, adhering to ASTM standards for robustness and reliability in high-pressure applications.
SS 317 forged fittings find extensive applications in chemical plants, refineries, and acid-rich environments, particularly sulfuric acid and acetic acid. They are best suited for use in piping systems in pulp and paper mills, textile manufacturing, dyeing processes, and pollution control systems. Because of their high corrosion resistance, these fittings are also utilized in sea applications, desalination plants, and drug factories. Their molybdenum content enables them to excel in aggressive conditions where lower alloyed steel collapses. SS 317 forged fittings are a trustworthy option for corrosive fluid handling, especially where reliability and minimal downtime are concerns.
