SS 347 has about 17-19% Chromium and 9-13% Nickel content, with stabilization using Columbium (Niobium) and Tantalum. The additions improve the resistance of the steel to intergranular corrosion in high-temperature applications. It has a tensile strength of about 515–750 MPa and a yield strength of about 205 MPa. SS 347 pipe fittings show good creep strength, weldability, and toughness in sub-zero temperatures as well. They are resistant to carbide precipitation, making them suitable for use where prolonged exposure to high temperatures is expected.
