Vinit Stainless is a trustworthy distributor of AWS Class E317L-16 Electrodes in Chennai, India, providing specialized welding consumables for highly corrosive environments. E317L-16 is specially designed for welding molybdenum-containing stainless steels and alloys employed in corrosive chemical processes. These low-carbon electrodes minimize the possibility of intergranular corrosion with superior pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking resistance. Vinit Stainless offers electrodes that are consistently good with steady arcs and quality weld finishes. Their E317L-16 electrodes are applied in many industries such as pulp & paper, chemical processing, food processing, and pharmaceuticals to produce strong, corrosion-resistant welds.
AWS E317L-16 Electrodes have 18–20% chromium, 12–14% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and ≤0.04% carbon. The added molybdenum increases resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, and the reduced carbon lowers carbide precipitation. Welds provide a fully austenitic structure with good mechanical stability. Mechanical properties are tensile strength of 580 MPa, yield strength of 400 MPa, and elongation of 30–35%. The electrodes form high-quality welds with good corrosion resistance to aggressive acids and chlorides and are used for manufacturing and repairing severe service application corrosion-susceptible stainless steel parts.
