SS 17-4PH tubing is a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel that consists mainly of iron, chromium (15-17.5%), nickel (3-5%), copper (3-5%), and minor amounts of niobium and manganese. It possesses superior strength, corrosion resistance, and hardness. The general mechanical properties consist of tensile strength of up to 1100 MPa, yield strength of about 1000 MPa, and elongation of 10-15%. It has good mechanical properties up to 600°F (316°C) and is heat-treatable for increased strength and toughness, making it perfectly suitable for high-performance industrial applications.
