The main constituents of stainless steel 202 pipe fittings are 16–18% chromium, 4–6% nickel, and 7.5–10% manganese, with a maximum carbon content of 0.15%. This austenitic alloy of chromium, manganese, and nickel has good mechanical strength and moderate corrosion resistance. Excellent elongation and toughness are typical, with a tensile strength of about 515 MPa and a yield strength of about 275 MPa. SS 202 is appropriate for lightweight structural applications due to its good formability and weldability.
