A high-alloy austenitic stainless steel with exceptional heat resistance and long-term strength is stainless steel 253MA. In addition to trace amounts of nitrogen and rare earth metals like cerium for increased oxidation resistance, its chemical makeup consists of 20–22% chromium, 18–20% nickel, and 1.5–2.5% molybdenum.
