The austenitic stainless steel alloy used to make 304H stud bolts has a high carbon content (0.04%–0.10%), 18–20% chromium, and 8–10.5% nickel. Creep resistance and high-temperature strength are improved by the higher carbon content. These stud bolts have good elongation, yield strength (about 205 MPa), and exceptional tensile strength (up to 515 MPa). Additionally, SS 304H is suitable for high-heat environments because it retains its toughness even at high temperatures.
