The composition of stainless steel 304L pipes is composed of a maximum of 0.03% carbon and 18–20% chromium and 8–12% nickel. These pipes have an elongation of roughly 40%, a yield strength of about 170 MPa, and a tensile strength of about 485 MPa. Even at cryogenic temperatures, exceptional toughness and ductility are guaranteed by the austenitic microstructure.
