Vinit Stainless is a well-known SS 316L coils manufacturer and supplier in Chennai, India, providing high-quality stainless steel solutions for various industries. SS 316L is a low-carbon form of 316 stainless steel, valued for its high weldability and better corrosion and crevice corrosion resistance. SS 316L is best suited to corrosive environments like marine, chemical, and pharmaceutical sectors. Vinit Stainless produces SS 316L coils to the highest quality standards, providing consistent quality, dimensional tolerance, and endurance for high-use applications where cleanliness and corrosion resistance are crucial.
SS 316L coil consists of 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, and not more than 0.03% Carbon. Low carbon content in it reduces the precipitation of carbides during welding, which lessens the chance of intergranular corrosion. It possesses a tensile strength of around 485 MPa and yield strength of 170 MPa. SS 316L also has high ductility and very good formability. The molybdenum composition increases its resistance to corrosion in chloride and acidic conditions, and thus it is a reliable material for tough and sanitary conditions.
