SS 316L flanges are low-carbon stainless steel flanges that are engineered for superior weldability and excellent corrosion resistance. Produced by Vinit Stainless in Chennai, India, these flanges are best suited for situations where post-weld annealing isn’t feasible. Lower carbon content in 316L flanges avoids carbide precipitation during welding, maintaining long-term durability and cleanliness in corrosive environments. With aggressive resistance to chemical attack as well as pitting, they find applications in the food processing, marine, and pharmaceutical industries. Vinit Stainless provides high dimensional accuracy, global conformance, and effective supply to fulfill industrial requirements in standard and customized forms.
SS 316L flanges consist of 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, and not more than 0.03% Carbon. The flanges possess a tensile strength of approximately 485 MPa and a yield strength of 170 MPa, with superior elongation and hardness. The reduced carbon content enhances weldability with retention of resistance against sensitization as well as intergranular corrosion. The addition of molybdenum ensures enhanced resistance against corrosion induced by chlorides. SS 316L flanges are resistant to acidic and saline environments and are commonly selected for applications where frequent welding and long-lasting structural integrity are necessary.

SS 316L Slip-On Flanges are available in sizes ranging from 1/2″ to 48″. They offer excellent corrosion resistance due to the low carbon content, making them suitable for high-temperature applications. These flanges are easy to install by slipping over the pipe and welding at both the top and bottom
Stainless Steel 316L Weld Neck Flanges come in sizes from 1/2″ to 60″. With superior corrosion resistance and strength, they are ideal for high-pressure systems. The long tapered hub provides reinforcement, ensuring a robust and leak-proof connection
SS 316L Blind Flanges are available in sizes from 1/2″ to 48″. They are designed to close the ends of piping systems, offering excellent corrosion resistance. These flanges are suitable for systems requiring inspection and maintenance access points.
Stainless Steel 316L Threaded Flanges come in sizes from 1/2″ to 24″. Their corrosion resistance makes them ideal for low-pressure, non-welded applications. The threaded design allows for easy installation and removal without welding.
SS 316L Socket Weld Flanges are available in sizes from 1/2″ to 24″. They provide good corrosion resistance and are designed for small-diameter, high-pressure systems. The socket weld connection ensures a strong and secure joint.
Stainless Steel 316L Lap Joint Flanges come in sizes from 1/2″ to 24″. They are highly corrosion-resistant and suitable for systems requiring frequent disassembly. The loose flange design allows for easy alignment and flexibility in installation.
SS 316L flanges are commonly used in applications where corrosion resistance and sanitation are important. General uses are pharmaceutical factories, chemical processing facilities, marine systems, and food and beverage processing. Their superior weldability without post-weld heat treatment makes them ideal for piping and pressure systems in cleanroom facilities and offshore installations. 316L flanges are applied in wastewater treatment facilities, heat exchangers, and condensers as well. Their low carbon content guarantees extended service life, especially in chloride-dense or acid environments. These flanges are selected on the basis of their reliability, ease of making, and low maintenance needs in rigorous industrial applications.
