SS 316Ti is a molybdenum-containing stainless steel with the addition of Titanium (approximately 0.5%) to prevent carbide precipitation. It has 16-18% Chromium, 10-14% Nickel, and 2-3% Molybdenum. The alloy enjoys superior corrosion resistance, particularly against chlorides and acids. It has a tensile strength of 550–700 MPa and yield strength of 240 MPa. SS 316Ti shows good toughness, weldability, and formability along with retaining mechanical properties at high temperatures. It is excellent in resistance to sensitization and high-temperature corrosion due to which it can be used for long-term exposure in corrosive atmospheres.
