SS 316Ti tubing contains 16–18% Chromium, 10–14% Nickel, 2–3% Molybdenum, and 0.5% Titanium. The addition of titanium stabilizes the structure against the precipitation of chromium carbide during welding. It has superior mechanical strength with about 550 MPa tensile strength and around 230 MPa yield strength. The tube also resists pitting and crevice corrosion with high strength, especially in the presence of chloride. SS 316Ti has good performance in high temperatures and corrosive environments and is therefore a superior option for heat-high usage where material stability over a long period is needed.
