SS 321H contains 17–19% chromium, 9–12% nickel, and titanium added (at least 5x the content of carbon) to stabilize. It contains higher carbon (0.04–0.10%) than SS 321, hence more high-temperature strength. The alloy possesses tensile strength of 515 MPa (min), yield strength of 205 MPa (min), and elongation of 40%. SS 321H retains mechanical strength and oxidation resistance through 870°C and can be used in elevated temperature service. It also resists intergranular corrosion following welding and stress-relieving heat treatments.
