Stainless Steel Plate Flanges are generally made of stainless steel grades flat plates like SS 304, 304L, 316, or 316L. Their make-up, with a high concentration of chromium and sometimes nickel, is sufficiently corrosion-resistant in a wide range of environments. Mechanically, they have adequate tensile strength (e.g., 515-620 MPa in 304/304L) and yield strength (205-220 MPa). Although less complex in design than most other flange types, their solid plate make-up has adequate strength for low-pressure and not-critical service.
