Stainless Steel XM19 (or Nitronic 50 or UNS S20910) nuts owe their superior properties to a rigorously balanced composition. Major components are 20.5-23.5% Chromium, 11.5-13.5% Nickel, 4.0-6.0% Manganese, 1.5-3.0% Molybdenum, and an important addition of 0.20-0.40% Nitrogen. This combination produces excellent mechanical properties, such as a high tensile strength (usually in excess of 690 MPa or 100 ksi) and a considerable yield strength (in excess of 380 MPa or 55 ksi). XM19 nuts are also highly ductile, tough, and resistant to sensitization, retaining their strength even under harsh conditions.
